The aim is to highlight key safeguarding issues, start conversations and raise awareness of safeguarding best practice.

Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board and Gateshead Safeguarding Children Partnership and are joining together during the national adults Safeguarding Week 2024, to raise awareness about safeguarding both children and adults and showing the importance of "safeguarding being everyone's business".

Safeguarding children, young people, adults and families remains a priority for all of us. Help us to make our first joint Safeguarding Week a success by celebrating and sharing good practice, and raising awareness of the services you provide to protect and support all people in Gateshead.

We discuss what true friendship means and how people vulnerabilities can be exploited. You will also get the chance to look at the failings to protect our character and how it could have gone better by rerunning the play to see what support and choice was available to the character.

Our seasoned and highly trained learning disabled actors will also train your safeguarding gut. You will meet in role characters where you as the learner will decided whether there is a true safeguarding risk and need to act.
